Friends of Chichester Hospitals shop at St Richards
Friends of Chichester Hospitals
The Friends are proud to be entirely volunteer led and operated, supporting St Richard’s Hospital and local mental health services. This means that all the money we raise goes directly to making a real difference for patients, visitors and staff.
Much of the vital equipment used in the hospital on a daily basis has been provided by funds raised by the Friends. Visit our blog to see our latest fundraising events, appeals and equipment provided. Every £1 makes a difference.
Our Trustees are elected by the members and are drawn from a variety of backgrounds – business, administration, medical careers etc. They share a common desire to support Chichester’s hospitals effectively so that patients in this large catchment area can have the best possible medical facilities.
More about usWe’re already making a difference – we can achieve even more with your help
The Friends have always provided traditional “patient comforts”, which is still a high priority. We also provide many items of medical equipment.
We raise funds in several ways including membership subscriptions, the hospital shop and ward trolley, events, donations and legacies.
The Friends have a strong local membership who pay a small annual subscription (£10 minimum). We value their contribution to our activities, and through the AGM, members act as scrutineers of the Trustees’ activities.
How we make a differenceThe hospital shop and ward trolley
The Friends hospital shop in the Outpatient Entrance area at St Richard’s provides snacks, refreshments, newspapers, gifts and other useful products at competitive prices, for our patients, staff and visitors. The shop is open Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm.
Our ward trolley runs every day of the year apart from Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and some bank holidays.
We pride ourselves on our dedicated, friendly service provided by our team of vetted volunteers who act as the friendly face of the Friends.
