How we make a difference
The Friends have always provided traditional “patient comforts”, which is still a high priority. We also provide many items of medical equipment.
Each request is carefully scrutinized. Recent examples include:
- Faxitron breast cancer diagnostic equipment
- Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy equipment
- ECG machines, echocardiograph equipment
- A&E trolleys and stretcher chairs, children’s books and toys, hearing loop equipment
- Ultrasound examination couch, Fibroscan non-invasive liver scanner
- Anaesthetic machines, monitors, infant resuscitation equipment
Major donations have been made to hospital appeals:
- Accident and Emergency (A&E) appeal (£150,000)
- MRI scanner (£200,000)
- Cancer Day Unit (£157,000)
And to projects adopted by the Friends:
- Chichester Treatment Centre (£225,000)
- Donald Wilson House Neurological Rehabilitation Centre (£100,000)
- A&E X-Ray Room (£265,000) and new stretchers (£125,000)
- Eye Day Surgery Unit and Eye Clinic (£500,000)
The Friends raise funds in several ways:
