At the end of last month, a new state of the art 3D cardiac ultrasound machine became operational in the cardiology unit at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester. This equipment will:
- Improve patient care
- Result in better results up to 50% faster, increasing the number of patients who can be scanned to potentially reduce waiting lists
- Reduce the time patients have to stay in hospital
Costing £142,000, this equipment was funded by us, the Friends of Chichester Hospitals.
Dr Robert Jennings, consultant cardiologist, said “We are extremely grateful to Friends of Chichester Hospitals for their funding as this new equipment will make a tremendous difference to the way we diagnose and treat many of our patients.”
Richard Stephens, chair of Friends, commented “This funding is only possible by the kind generosity of the local community in the Chichester area. With their continued support, we will be able to provide other vital equipment for St Richard’s.”
If you would like to show your support for Friends of Chichester Hospitals so we can continue to provide funding for vital equipment and much more, you can organise your own fundraising event, make a donation or join the Friends of Chichester Hospitals lottery – each entry costs just £1 and you could win up to £25,000!
