Christmas is a time for family and so this year the Friends of St Richard’s will be raising funds to help buy the Paediatric A&E department a new “Resuscitaire” – a vital piece of lifesaving equipment to stabilise very sick babies who are brought to A&E needing immediate treatment.
The special cot can warm them, stabilise temperature, and deliver fluids and oxygen.
The Friends’ Christmas raffle is already under way and it’s hoped the proceeds will go some way to raising the £9,400 needed.
With a first prize of £150 cash, and three super Christmas hampers to be won, tickets are already on sale at the Friends’ Shop, and in local venues. The draw will take place on 19th December at 3pm.
Other activities are planned to raise funds for the Resuscitaire – on Tuesday 3rd December, there will be a bucket collection at Chichester’s historic Cross, thanks to the Rotary Clubs’ support in allocating a day to the Friends.
At Petworth Lights Event on Saturday 7th December, Friends’ volunteers will have a stall in the United Reformed Church, Golden Square, and look forward to seeing supporters there.
